A Sad Senior Sitch

My household has been quite depressing lately as I have a brother who is a senior in high school and a sister who is a senior in college. Both of their senior springs have been taken from them. I know there are far worse things going on in the world, but for them, this is a big deal.

I have a few friends who are seniors in high school, including my brother’s longtime girlfriend, and I am going to share what I will be doing for them to celebrate their graduations (when they eventually happen).

Gift Baskets!!! This is a perfect gift for a high school senior that is planning on going to college because it is personal and practical. This post is mostly targeted towards female seniors, but items can be exchanged to make it personal for your senior. First off, you need a bucket/basket/container to hold the items. I am planning on buying some sort of wicker basket from Michaels or another craft store.

The contents of the basket:

  • Tide-to-go sticks (pack of three)
  • Picture frame filled with a picture of you and them or them and their friends (take one off of their instagram or facebook). Mariposa has beautiful frames that you can customize with the year of graduation or any other message!
  • Alcohol Nips – if they are planning on going to parties in college and drinking, this is an easy way for them to get some starter supplies without having to ask their parents – if they do not have that type of relationship.
  • Sign with their home zip code on it – I painted mine for the baskets, but you can easily find them on Etsy. I think the shop linked below has some cute ones.
  • Face masks
  • Gift Card to a local restaurant near their school
  • A box of microwave popcorn – this is the best way to get people to come into your dorm!
  • Nail polish – this is an item girls often forget to bring to school with them
  • PJ shorts! J.Crew Factory, Gap, and Old Navy have great ones that are pretty cheap.
  • Scrunchies or spiral hair ties
  • Socks

Any other suggestions? I’d love to hear what else you’d put in this basket!

Once I put mine together, I will post an update on the final product!
