My family and I have been quarantined in our house for just about a month now. We go out occasionally to go to the grocery store or CVS, but mostly it’s been the five of us together in the house. Here are some of the things I am/we are doing to keep busy!
- CLEANING OUT! I have cleaned out literally every inch of my room. I donated so many clothes and updated my Poshmark! (Shopsoph5 if you’re interested 🙂 ) I also weirdly kept a lot of school work over the years (papers, art projects, etc.) and I did something that was reaalllyyy hard for me – THROW THEM OUT! Decluttering takes me forever because I love to hold on to objects, but it feels so good when it is done.
- Cooking! We take turns cooking every night. Some of my favorite things we have made are breakfast for dinner, thai chicken with rice, pulled chicken in the crock pot, homemade mac n cheese, and make your own pizzas.
- Walking! I loooovee going for walks and listening to podcasts. My favorites to listen to are The Morning Toast, The Lady Gang, and Off the Vine with Kaitlyn Bristowe. It is a great way to get exercise and clear your mind.
- Painting! We did a family paint & sip night. My sister picked a photo for all of us to paint on canvases. Since then I have made a few more paintings. I’ll post pictures below!
- Writing letters! For lent this year, I decided to send out 10 handwritten notes to people I am thinking about. I picked up cards at the dollar store – they are so cute and like 50 cents each! It
- Zumba! I started doing zumba at my local YMCA about a year and a half ago. I always have loved dancing, and this gave me the chance to dance and workout at the same time. During the quarantine, I’ve been teaching zumba to my family. I use songs from class and then pick some of my own to make up routines for. It is so fun and a great way to keep moving.
- Watch a TV series together! Most nights after dinner we all sit down on the couch to watch Scandal. I have seen it before, but I loved it so much I was happy to watch it again with everyone. This is a good series because it hooks you in and keeps you on your toes.
